St. Cyprians's Welcomes Williford
Lufkin . . . Brinn Williford, an award-winning principal, took over the reins of St. Cyprian's School on July the first. Williford replaced Jay Perry who left to pursue a Christian ministry calling. "I am aware of the tremendous reputation and student success of St. Cyprian's School. I believe that I can continue and add to that success, and I look forward to the challenge of trying to achieve greater success for our students, staff and the community that has invested so much in St. Cyprian's," said Williford.
Williford began his teaching career in Nacogdoches and comes to us from the Westwood Independent School District where he served as the Assistant Principal of Westwood Elementary School and the Principal of Westwood Primary School. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Arkansas State University and a Master of Science Degree in Education Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. While serving at Westwood Elementary School, Williford was recognized as the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association's Assistant Principal of the Year in 2004.
"The Head of School Search Committee worked hard and prayed hard this past spring to find the right person for the position. Brinn's professional experience and strong faith in God made him a wonderful fit to lead St. Cyprian's Episcopal School and continue its reputation of educational excellence and spiritual growth. God has blessed us all with Brinn's calling. He has the Board's full confidence and support," explained St. Cyprain's Board of Trustees President Jake Squiers.
Williford and his wife, Sherry, a radio and television instructor at Stephen F. Austin State University, have two children. Their son, Josh, is a sophomore at Howard Payne University and their daughter Sarah, will be is in fifth grade at. St. Cyprian's.
